Literature Text

Flames leap,
alive with anger,
burning everything in their path.

I refuse to sleep,
heeding the danger,
lest we suffer the Firestorm's wrath.

Glued to the screen,
we await the order,
making plans to escape certain death.

It's a horrific scene,
flames at each border,
as if fanned by the Devil's own breath.
Poem about the Southern California fires. At one point, the local news shared a map that showed the ocean on one side of my community and fires on the three communities that surround mine. It wasn't a good feeling, but me and mine are fine.
